A Stop Along the Way: Ruffian, NYC
The East Village in Manhattan is such a trendy and fun area to explore. Along with many great restaurants and shops, you're bound to have an extensive amount of options for wandering around on a Saturday or Sunday. Whether you're looking for great drinks, food, or both, the East Village is a place to see.
I'm always on the hunt for cool and trendy places to check out, and that's how I came across Ruffian. A French inspired wine bar, Ruffian is a cozy East Village gem that's quickly becoming a major neighborhood attraction. Upon walking in, you'll notice how intimate and fashionable the decor is. Take a seat at the bar and order a glass of wine (they've got hundreds of French wines on their list) and some tasty options off of the menu. Shareable plates give you the opportunity to try a few items out, and I highly suggest the cauliflower soup. We also had the chance to try a delicious vegetarian lentil dish, along wish some bone marrow (or I think it was bone marrow).
For a little something different (always take risks in life) Ruffian knows what's up.
Everyday from 5-7 PM, Ruffian has a happy hour menu with 5 different food items for $5 each. The regular menu isn't even that expensive for a NYC restaurant, though you're bound to truly save if you hop in during their happy hour. I had the chance to meet almost the entire Ruffian team, and I immediately felt like I was "home" after sitting down and ordering a few plates. In Manhattan, finding a restaurant that you could can your second home is not an easy task.
After spending a night at Ruffian, you might as well put up your apartment for sale.
