With the amazing Gretta Monahan backstage! She is such an inspiration, and so sweet!
Posing in the room I was in while awaiting hair/makeup and a fitting.
Quick cab selfie on the way to the West Side with my new hair thanks to Blo. We decided to go with a wavy style and a braid at the top. My stylist was super helpful, and knew exactly what to do with my hair so I wasn't stressed figuring out what style would like right.
Every Blo salon is quite different, but similar in ways. This salon is pretty small (as is everything in NYC) but was warm and cozy, with a big TV playing White Chicks and drinks and food all around. I was there the minute they opened, so had the salon to myself for a while!
Can you spot me!?
The lighting is dark in this picture but this was my outfit. Etienne Aigner necklace/bracelet/sweater, Glam Rock Watches watch, DUO boots, and EM Reservoir shorts.
The best part about Blo is you can purchase a ton of necessary hair items on your way out of the salon.
The outside is super cute and a definite portrayal of the quaint Upper East Side with stone bricks.
The final look: ta-da!
I leave bright and early for Turkey tomorrow: I am nervous. I'm going out of NYC, so have to travel from CT to the city to the airport, to Amsterdam, and on to Turkey. It's been a while since I've stepped foot on a plane, so the whole idea right now is kind of freaking me out. A full 2 weeks of clothing has been stuffed into my teeny tiny suitcase, meaning lots of long-sleeve tops and corduroys.
If you don't follow me on Instagram (which you should!!!!!!!) you haven't seen any backstage coverage from my filming at Rachael Ray yet! Before the filming, I went to Blo Blow Dry Bar on East 64th street to be prepped and primped. The staff at this salon never fail to impress me, in both CT and NYC. This location is rather new, and was filled with beautiful pink lighting, white chairs, and an array of cookies, wine (that I was prohibited from touching, hehe) and gossip magazines for leisure reading while getting your hair done. My stylist was beyond sweet, and completely understood my need to not be late for the show, and had me out of the chair ready to go in just under one hour.
