Candy, candy, candy!
With my beautiful friend! I am in an Elizabeth and James skirt, RM bag, and Citizens of
Humanity jacket. I tried to bring the look daytime with school and work straight
to the evening. A simple denim jacket is a versatile transitional piece that worked perfectly,
even though it meant being a bit hot until around 8 PM.
I’m digging drawstring pants lately, mostly because they are SO comfortable!
Walking out of the house in “fashionable” sweats- what is better than that? Plus,
Sequence brings the outfit to a new intriguing level with bold colors and fun
ropes and accessories.
On Wednesday I was invited to the Sequence + Splendid launch party
in Soho, which was a blast. For one, Dylan’s Candy Bar sponsored the
event, which meant free candy and drinks passed around…not complaining.
Splendid happens to be my go to line for all things intimate and casual-
simple tank tops, tops, and staple jackets. Their Soho store is quite small,
but they managed to set up a DJ booth (beats by Harley Newton- so rad!),
a drink table, a full candy bar, and a collection of the bracelets on stand at the
front. And, a showcase of the new Splendid collection so we could all window
shop (for those of us who are on a summer “budget” right now) and wish we
had every piece in our closet!
I’m not familiar with Sequence, but after previewing the line, am very
impressed. The designers jewelry is handcrafted, and you can tell just by
looking at the jewelry, it is a fit for any woman in your life. Majority of
the pieces are made with rope or string, and intricately woven together in
a mesh of bright and bold colors.
I happen to be quite the fan of the friendship bracelets, which are a perfect
pick to give your roomie as a thank you gift if you’re glad to have her around,
or one way to suck up to mom or the lady in your life if you accidentally spent
too much on the credit card that month. Either way, Splendid + Sequence put on an
event suitable for any age and anyone with an eye for fashion.
