Rebecca Minkoff F/W 2012

Of all the NYFW shows that I have been keeping myself updated with, the Rebecca Minkoff F/W 2012 show was incredible. I mean it was pretty much expected that that would be one of the best fashion week shows. The background of the show was from actor Ewan McGregor’s 2004 documentary series “Long Way Round” about a motorcycle trip around the world. What can one expect about a motorcycle trip besides tons of patterns, edgy mixes of chic and grunge, and tons and tons of muted and loud colors. Python print was seen on everything, which was probably one of my loves from the collection. Biker jackets, tuxedo pants and leather racer pants were all inspired by menswear. Color came through loud in a sequined T-shirt, purple python print shorts and trench, and an orange short-sleeved dress with slits at the shoulders. Some looks were paired with skinny pants and shiny black leggings. I love the fact that Rebecca makes it possible for a woman (or a girl in my sense)to still look feminine, sophisticated and a lot like a biker gal. Not to mention the show started with a live performance, which is what draws my attention directly to that clothing and how much effort was put into making every detail perfection. What did you think of the collection? Which show has been your fave so far?

P.S. A new giveaway is coming up right when I hit 450 and I’m so excited about it! It involves two words: Free.People. Can you guess what designer it’s by? 😉
