Out to brunch is never a casual affair for a blogger, but more like a time to get dressed up and experiment with fun new outfits you’ve been waiting to try out. When I spotted this chunky knit sweater in a chic boutique(I have about 50 others in my closet, all in various shades of grey and brown) I couldn’t resist. The braiding is so lovely and feminine. It’s actually kinda funny because the sweater is a size L and my mom was the first one to actually spot it and try it on, thinking she could also pull off the oversized look. Being the lovely daughter I am, I felt no pang of regret telling her how awful and oversized it looked on her. Right when she took it off, I grabbed it, threw it on and imagined myself with tousled hair, knee high black boots and my favorite pair of skinnies. The owner of the boutique actually came over to me and handed me the black slip, which I expected was going to look horrendous under my new favorite sweater but I put it on anyways. To my surprise, this was one of the best outfits I had ever seen. Totally girly and fun! I grabbed this brown flower headband, found the nearest pair of black tights (still in the store) and these crazy gorgeous hand knit hand warmers and voila! I already had my black combats on so it was so meant to be.
P.S. Congrats to Anne from The Satirical Stylist for winning my giveaway! Can’t wait to see her in both pieces.
