Hi dolls! I’m not going to do the post on looking like a celeb just yet because the Oscar’s were on last night and of course, I love to do a post on the awards!

I loved the fashion last night. I think everyone looked stunning! There were a couple mishaps and some outfits just didn’t work. But altogether I think it was great. I especially loved Gwenyth Paltrow, Hailee Steinfeld, Anne Hathaway, and Mila Kunis.
The metallic and glitter trend was a big fav of mine. Gwenyth Paltrow, Hailee Steinfeld and Amy Adams worked this trend perfectly! Metallic and glitter is such a perfect match and is just so gorg for a night out on the town. I’ve seen many different sparkly accessories/tops/shoes nowadays, and I think this is a huge upcoming trend we need to look out for.
Purple was a big hit on the carpet too. Anywhere from lavender to a deep lace purple made the list. I really loved Scarlett Johannson in a red/purpley color and lace. I think her hair would have looked a bit better up, but I still felt the look was very glam. Mila Kunis also looked like perfection with a lavender lace dress. Her hair was beautiful up in the messy bun and the color was really great for her tan skin color.
Ravishing red. I never really knew how red dresses with the red carpet would look, but celebs like Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock and Penelope Cruz pulled this one off perfectly. I think Penelope’s look is very conservative and more glamorous, while say Jennifer Lawrence went with a more risque sort of dress and still pulled it off perfectly. Although, I do wish Jennifer would have worn some more obvious jewelry to sort of glam the dress up a bit more.
High impact jewelry is the last of the biggies. Some of the dresses celebs wore weren’t the best, so the big jewelry made up for it. From Cartier to Lorraine Schwartz, the ladies picked amaz designers to be the ones to sum up a not so great dress or even make an amaz dress just a tad more glamourous!
Trends that didn’t make the cut-
To be honest, I truly didn’t like Jennifer Hudson’s Versace dress! She always looks stunning and the dress really fit her body type, but I hated the tacky orange color and I think she showed too much cleavage for the Oscar’s. Now, someone like Mila Kunis could pull off that extra bit of cleavage because the dress was more subtle and had the pieces of lace coming from the sides. I usually love J Hud, but this time I have to disagree with her selection.
Marisa Tomei also didn’t make my list of top outfits. I don’t like the cheap satin sweetheart neck at the top and the big poof at the bottom. I’m a bit confused as it seems like the dress is 2 different dresses mixed to be one. If she had put her hair up in a sleek bun, I just might have considered the possibility of liking the hair and top half of the dress. The vintage Charles James number should have stayed back in the 1950’s. The only part I somewhat like are the chunky multi-colored sapphire pieces from Van Cleef & Arpels.
P.S. Next post on how to dress like the celebs! Also, look at the post 2 after this for an APART Style giveaway and 15% discount code when you use FASHIONLANE @! The deadline to have your entries in has been extended till this Monday at 4:00 PM EST!
P.P.S. Things that are italicized are outfits that made my fav’s list!
Love, forever&always
